Effective March 3, 2025, the Ontario Cervical Cancer Screening Program (OCSP) will undergo significant changes, with HPV testing becoming the primary screening method for cervical cancer. To support this transition, please find key updates, links and attachments below.

Key changes to practice and screening

  • Sample Collection

  • Screening Interval During Transition

    • Follow the recommended screening interval based on the previous screening test and results. For example, if a patient recently had a normal pap, their next screening should be in 3 years, but with HPV testing instead.
